I'm a little confused (probably just cuz I'm new at this) - but this technorati sight - is it something similar to del.icio.us? Or is it another aggregator of some kind. It seems confusing. ?

Yes, it is similar to del.icio.us. Except with this feature, people put tags in when they write their post, whereas with del.icio.us it's a case of tagging a post after it's written.

I thought it was interesting. There were many results under "network" and many results under "literacy," but this post was the first under the "network literacy" tag.

I am not sure how well this feature is being received, especially in comparison with del.icio.us. Depending on how well it takes off, I think it will could be another avenue for finding posts of interest. For example, if we had put the technorati tag for network literacy in all of our posts on network literacy, then those posts would have show up in the search results.
